Electrical & Instrumentation Manager | COMAH Site | Engineering Leadership Role
Location: West Bromwich
Salary: up to £75K

I'm working on behalf of a lower-tier COMAH facility that is investing into its engineering function and looking for an E&I Manager to take ownership of a skilled team and a critical function within the business.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role with full accountability for both day-to-day maintenance operations and project delivery across electrical and instrumentation systems.
You’ll be:
- Leading a team of 14 engineers plus contractors
- Owning CAPEX and maintenance project delivery (design → installation)
- Driving continuous improvement of maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Playing a key role in site safety, compliance, and culture
You'll also be a key point of contact across the business, working closely with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
What We’re Looking For
This role will suit someone who combines strong technical depth with proven leadership experience within a process or hazardous environment.
- Background in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (HNC minimum)
- 10+ years’ experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong PLC/HMI capability (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ideal)
- Understanding of ATEX & hazardous area classification
- Knowledge of functional safety in a process plant environment
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Confident managing multiple priorities and leading teams effectively
