Job Description

Opportunity for a technically minded senior to deliver a landmark higher education project at well established firm with loyal clients and employees alike who, together, believe in creating inspiring places to learn.


Position:

Joining as a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a landmark £60 million BREEAM Excellent new-build laboratory and life sciences project for a prestigious university. Currently at the end of RIBA Stage 3 and progressing into Stage 4, your role will involve balancing design intent, technical requirements, budget constraints, and programme pressures. You will be responsible for compiling the Employer's Requirements, undertaking value engineering exercises, and liaising with multidisciplinary consultant teams, including structural and façade consultants, as well as the contractor, to coordinate and resolve complex technical issues. Following novation, you will act in a client-monitoring capacity to help ensure the successful delivery of the project.


Candidate:

  • ARB-registered Architect with significant post-Part III experience, operating at Senior Architect level
  • Proven track record of leading large teams and delivering complex projects through RIBA Stages 3–5. Experience in higher education and/or science projects, as well as public sector frameworks, would be advantageous
  • Strong project leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate contractors, consultants, and stakeholder groups
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and construction methodologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently, remain calm under pressure, and prioritise collaborative problem-solving
  • Experience working within a BIM environment
