Manager Network Engineering

Network Engineering Manager is required by one of the world's leading hyperscale technology organisations as they continue to invest heavily in their global infrastructure footprint and expand their EMEA network engineering leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Network Engineering Manager with a strong background in large-scale data centre networking, network automation and hyperscale infrastructure to lead a team responsible for the design, deployment and operation of some of the most advanced network environments in the world.

The Opportunity

• The successful candidate will lead a team of 10+ network engineers responsible for delivering highly scalable, automated and resilient network infrastructure across data centres, backbone, cloud and internet-facing environments
• This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, people management and strategic infrastructure planning. You will play a key role in shaping the future architecture of a rapidly expanding global network whilst driving automation, standardisation and operational excellence across the estate

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of network engineers operating across multiple regions and network domains
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for large-scale data centre network infrastructure across the EMEA region
• Drive the design and deployment of next-generation data centre fabrics supporting hyperscale growth and capacity demands
• Champion network automation initiatives, reducing operational complexity and improving deployment velocity, consistency and reliability
• Oversee network architecture across data centre, backbone, internet, cloud and optical transport environments
• Collaborate with infrastructure, systems, cloud and software engineering teams to deliver highly automated infrastructure solutions
• Establish engineering standards, design principles and operational best practices across the organisation
• Lead large-scale transformation programmes focused on scalability, automation, performance and resilience
• Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams

What We're Looking For

• Fluent Mandarin and English language skills are required due to regular collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders based in Mandarin-speaking regions
• Proven experience leading network engineering teams within hyperscale cloud, internet-scale, content delivery, social media or large global technology environments
• Strong expertise in designing and operating large-scale data centre networks and modern spine-leaf architectures
• Deep understanding of network technologies including: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, EVPN/VXLAN, Data Centre Fabrics, and Public Cloud Networking
• Experience building and scaling highly available network infrastructure across multiple data centres and regions
• Strong background in network automation, infrastructure-as-code and operational tooling
• Experience driving automation strategies using technologies such as Python, Ansible, APIs, CI/CD pipelines and network orchestration frameworks
• Excellent understanding of network observability, telemetry, monitoring and performance management at scale
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence architecture and engineering decisions across global teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering or a related discipline

Preferred Experience

• CCIE, JNCIE or equivalent advanced networking certifications
• Experience within hyperscale cloud providers, global content platforms, internet companies or large-scale data centre operators
• Exposure to optical transport networks (OTN) and backbone engineering
• Experience supporting rapid infrastructure expansion programmes involving new data centre builds and capacity growth
