The Opportunity
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of financial reporting, controls, forecasting and business partnering activities across the organisation.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to ensure robust financial control while providing meaningful insight into business performance, costs and investment opportunities.
You'll have the opportunity to influence decision-making, improve processes and help drive performance across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Ensure robust accruals, prepayments, provisions and cut-off controls
- Deliver meaningful financial insight to operational teams and senior leadership
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and account ownership processes
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors
- Support internal audit activity and implement control improvements
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting processes
- Own cost centre reporting and overhead analysis
- Partner with operational leaders to understand performance drivers and variances
- Challenge expenditure and support efficiency initiatives
- Assist with business cases and investment decisions
- Lead annual budgeting across P&L, balance sheet, working capital and cashflow
- Deliver quarterly forecasts and scenario analysis
- Oversee capital projects and fixed asset accounting
- Monitor project spend and support investment approval processes
About You:
We're looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical accounting capability with the confidence to influence operational stakeholders.
You'll ideally bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- 3-7 years' post-qualified experience
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Proven balance sheet and controls expertise
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Advanced Excel and finance systems capability
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to process improvement and continuous improvement
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
