As part of their continued expansion plans, the company is now seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and extend their footprint across the South East.
The Role
This role is ideal for a proactive, relationship-driven sales professional with a strong interest in food and ingredients.
Working closely with the Sales Director, you will focus on developing new business across the region while nurturing existing accounts. Your primary focus will be on engaging regional foodservice wholesalers and distributors, as well as building relationships with end-user foodservice customers including Bakers, Chocolatiers and Gelato manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business growth within the South East through targeted outreach and account development
- Build strong, long-term relationships with regional wholesalers, end-user foodservice customers, and other supply chain partners
- Identify opportunities to introduce new products, ranges, and solutions
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customers receive a seamless service
- Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor developments, and changing customer needs
- Represent the company with confidence, professionalism, and a consultative mindset
Candidate Requirements
- Strong experience in Business Development or Account Management within food, ingredients, or premium FMCG
- Proven ability to develop business within the foodservice channel—ideally with wholesalers, distributors, or end-user operators
- Commercially aware with a real interest in food and professional ingredients
- Skilled in building rapport, managing relationships, and growing accounts
- Self-driven, organised, and comfortable working independently
- Confident interpreting sales data and translating it into actionable plans
- Comfortable travelling across the South East for customer visits
- A culinary interest or background would be beneficial, though not essential

- £50,000 – £55,000,dependent on experience
- Car allowance (£7,200) Mileage reimbursement rate at 45p per mile first 10k and 25p thereafter
