Job Description

The role

We’re working with a well-established healthcare services business as they look to hire a Head of Customer Acquisition to lead and scale their customer growth strategy across offline and and online channels.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven acquisition leader who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on campaign delivery in a fast-paced, performance-focused environment.

You’ll take full ownership of customer acquisition activity, with responsibility for driving scalable demand generation across multiple channels while ensuring strong ROI and alignment with operational capacity. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you’ll lead acquisition strategy while also remaining actively involved in execution, optimisation and continuous improvement activity.

You’ll oversee the planning and delivery of multi-channel campaigns across direct mail, digital, telesales, email and SMS, ensuring campaigns are delivered effectively, on time and within budget (currently around 30% of acquisition comes from Direct mail). This will involve working closely with external agencies and suppliers, as well as using data and insight to continually optimise campaign performance and customer conversion journeys.

A key part of the role is identifying and unlocking new growth opportunities. While a significant proportion of acquisition currently comes through direct mail, there is substantial opportunity to test and scale additional channels including TV, radio, partnerships and wider brand-led activity.

The role also carries full commercial responsibility for acquisition budgets and performance metrics, including CPA, conversion rates and overall ROI. You’ll balance demand generation with clinician capacity, ensuring acquisition activity supports wider operational efficiency and business performance.

Alongside campaign delivery, you’ll manage and develop a small team, setting clear expectations and driving a culture of accountability, pace and delivery across the function. You’ll also work cross-functionally with customer services, scheduling, IT and field teams to ensure alignment across the wider customer journey.

This is a highly visible role that would suit someone who thrives in a hands-on growth environment and enjoys building scalable acquisition strategies while delivering measurable commercial impact.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience within customer acquisition, performance marketing or growth marketing roles
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel acquisition strategies across both offline and digital channels
  • Experience managing direct marketing activity, with knowledge of digital acquisition and performance channels
  • Track record of testing and scaling new customer acquisition routes and campaign activity
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing acquisition budgets and ROI performance
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to turn insight into actionable improvements quickly
  • Highly organised with strong project and campaign management skills
  • Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing agencies, suppliers or external partners
  • Previous team management experience would be highly beneficial
  • Experience within healthcare, consumer services or lead generation environments would be advantageous but not essential

Benefits

Salary up to £70k, alongside a performance-related bonus scheme and the opportunity to join an established and growing healthcare services organisation with an excellent reputation.

Additional benefits include private medical insurance, contributory pension, life assurance and employee discounts.

You’ll be joining a business with ambitious growth plans, offering the opportunity to take genuine ownership of acquisition strategy and play a key role in shaping future customer growth across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a commercially focused leadership role with significant autonomy, visibility and long-term progression potential.
