Hays are partnering with a well-established and highly reputable retail organisation, to recruit a Trading Manager to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving category performance and delivering commercial growth within a fast-paced environment.
Your new role
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Managing product categories to maximise sales, profitability and market share.
- You will develop and implement trading strategies, analyse performance data and customer trends.
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate competitive terms and promotional plans.
- You will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain and store operations teams to ensure effective product availability and execution.
- You will monitor market activity, identify growth opportunities, and continuously optimise ranges and pricing strategies to meet customer demand.
What you'll need to succeed
- Recent experience in a trading, buying or category management role
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive sales and margin growth
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience using commercial or ERP systems
- Third-level qualification in business, supply chain or a related discipline
