As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven IT Pre-Sales Lead to help expand our consulting and IT resourcing business, strengthen client relationships, and contribute directly to revenue growth.
Role Overview
The IT Pre-Sales Lead will play a critical role in supporting Akoni Technologies' growth strategy by acting as the bridge between clients, sales teams, recruitment teams, and delivery teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding customer challenges, shaping technology solutions, building trusted client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, supporting bids and proposals, and contributing directly to revenue generation across both technology consulting services and IT resourcing/staff augmentation services.
This is a highly client-facing and commercially focused role. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with senior stakeholders, develop strategic partnerships, create opportunities, support contract wins, and help grow Akoni Technologies' presence across public and private sector markets.
The role combines solution consulting, technical pre-sales, relationship management, account growth, and business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Generate new business opportunities and revenue across Akoni Technologies' consulting, project delivery, managed services, and IT resourcing offerings.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of consulting, managed services, statement-of-work, permanent recruitment, and contract staffing opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for supplying skilled professionals across ServiceNow, Cloud, Data, AI, Software Engineering, Testing, Project Delivery, Business Analysis, Integration, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture disciplines.
- Build strategic relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Develop account growth plans to increase consulting and resourcing revenues.
- Support commercial negotiations, rate discussions, and contract renewals.
- Work towards agreed revenue, margin, pipeline, and growth targets.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and execute growth strategies.
- Represent Akoni Technologies at industry events, conferences, networking forums, and customer engagements.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Heads of Digital, Programme Directors, Delivery Managers, Procurement Teams, and Talent Acquisition teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Understand customer business objectives, technology challenges, and workforce requirements.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify future projects, transformation initiatives, and hiring plans.
- Maintain strong relationships that drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Position Akoni Technologies as a strategic partner for digital transformation and technology talent solutions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting
- Lead discovery workshops, customer meetings, and requirements gathering sessions.
- Analyse customer challenges and develop tailored technology solutions.
- Design high-level solution architectures and implementation approaches.
- Translate technical capabilities into compelling business outcomes and value propositions.
- Prepare solution presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and customer workshops.
- Support procurement exercises and technical evaluation processes.
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical and achievable.
- Develop solution roadmaps aligned with customer business objectives.
IT Resourcing & Workforce Solutions
- Work closely with recruitment teams to understand candidate availability, market trends, and client requirements.
- Support the qualification and prioritisation of client vacancies and workforce requirements.
- Assist with presenting consultants, contractors, and permanent candidates to customers.
- Identify opportunities for resource augmentation and team mobilisation services.
- Support customers with workforce planning and capability expansion requirements.
- Help secure opportunities for individual consultants, project teams, and managed service engagements.
- Promote Akoni Technologies' specialist talent pool across technology and digital disciplines.
Bid, Tender & Proposal Management
- Support responses for RFPs, RFIs, ITTs, Framework opportunities, and public sector procurement exercises.
- Develop technical proposals, solution designs, statements of work, and delivery approaches.
- Contribute to bid strategy, win themes, and competitive positioning.
- Support bid presentations, demonstrations, and customer clarification sessions.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce high-quality submissions.
- Ensure proposals clearly articulate customer value, benefits, delivery approach, governance, and risk management.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in IT Pre-Sales, Solution Consulting, Technical Sales, Technology Business Development, or Solution Architecture roles.
- Demonstrable experience generating revenue and contributing to business growth.
- Experience within an IT consultancy, systems integrator, technology services provider, or IT recruitment organisation.
- Strong experience building and managing senior client relationships.
- Proven ability to identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities.
- Experience supporting bids, tenders, proposals, and procurement processes.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sales cycles.
- Experience presenting technical and business solutions to customers.
- Excellent written communication and proposal writing skills.
- Experience managing sales pipelines and CRM systems.
- Ability to work effectively across sales, recruitment, and delivery functions.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with ServiceNow platforms and solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience with MuleSoft, Talend, and enterprise integration technologies.
- Understanding of AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud services.
- Experience working with UK Government, NHS, Local Government, Financial Services, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with CCS Frameworks, Digital Outcomes & Specialists (DOS), G-Cloud, and public sector procurement processes.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and GDS standards.
