Job Description

The Role

You will play a key role in a major transformation initiative within a large, regulated financial services environment, leading discovery and business architecture for transitioning Collections operations from legacy platforms to a modern Pega Collections solution. The role focuses on shaping customer and operational journeys, translating collections and regulatory requirements into Pega‑aligned functional designs, and ensuring delivery clarity across a high‑impact program.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end discovery and business architecture for transforming legacy Collections processes into a Pega Collections–based solution.
  • Define customer and agent journeys, collections case types, stages, treatments, and service expectations aligned to Pega design principles.
  • Own functional scope definition, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Day‑1/MVP prioritization.
  • Act as the collection’s domain authority, covering delinquency management, repayment arrangements, escalations, communications, and vulnerability handling.
  • Collaborate closely with business SMEs, product owners, and solution architects to translate business intent into Pega‑aligned functional designs.
  • Validate functional designs against regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements applicable to collections in a public‑sector environment.
  • Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to ensure clarity, completeness, and stakeholder alignment of requirements.
  • Support governance by identifying dependencies, risks, and assumptions across collections capabilities.
  • Provide ongoing functional oversight to ensure delivery adheres to agreed business outcomes and scope.
  • Contribute to collections roadmap planning and future‑state capability definition in collaboration with program leadership.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proven experience as a Pega Lead Business Architect (LBA) or senior Business Architect on largescale Pega delivery programs.
  • Pega Lead Business Architect (LBA) certification – strongly preferred, with demonstrable expertise applying Pega business architecture best practices.
  • Strong Collections and Debt Recovery domain expertise, ideally within financial services or regulated environments.
  • Prior experience working with Pega Collections, including treatments, strategies, delinquency flows, repayment arrangements, contact strategies, and agent workflows.
  • Strong capability in leading discovery, requirements elaboration, journey mapping, and translating business objectives into Pega‑aligned functional designs.
  • Deep understanding of case lifecycle design, including case types, stages, steps, personas, service levels, and decision points.
  • Proficiency in defining and validating epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation aligned to MVP and Day‑1 scope.
  • Experience contributing to the replacement of legacy collections systems with Pega‑based platforms from a functional/business architecture standpoint.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs, product owners, architects, and delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify functional dependencies, risks, assumptions, and regulatory considerations within collections journeys.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, providing ongoing functional assurance and supporting governance processes.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience working within Financial Services or Lending Collections, particularly in regulated or public‑sector environments.
  • Exposure to risk engines, scoring models, eligibility assessments, and repayment strategy design from a business and functional perspective.
  • Familiarity with data migration and transition approaches for moving from legacy Collections platforms to modern Pega‑based solutions.
  • Understanding of analytics‑driven decisioning, customer segmentation, treatment optimization, and strategy management within collections journeys.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including multiteam or scaled delivery models, supporting iterative refinement of requirements.
