Lead Platform Engineer – Kubernetes & GoLang

Location: Sheffield, Leeds, or Birmingham (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Job Type : Contract (Duration 6 months)

We are seeking a strong Kubernetes Platform Tech Lead with deep expertise in GoLang and the Kubernetes ecosystem. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across Kubernetes and GoLang development, including PR reviews, platform engineering, and technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable and resilient GKE Kubernetes platforms
• Drive platform engineering using Automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Tekton, Flux, Python)
• Support CI/CD implementation, operational excellence, and platform reliability
• Ensure compliance with security, risk, monitoring, and resiliency standards
• Collaborate with DevOps and cross-functional teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical best practices

Key Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with GoLang and Kubernetes/GKE
• Expertise in Cloud Native technologies and platform engineering
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and container platforms
• Strong problem-solving, operational, and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to support technical reviews and guide engineering decisions
