Job Description
London City Lionesses are one of the most ambitious clubs in women's football and part of the Kynisca group - a pioneering global organisation founded by Michele Kang with a vision to transform the future of women's sport. Following promotion to the Women's Super League, the club is entering an exciting new chapter as it continues to establish itself amongst the leading teams in the women's game.
Driven by a high-performance culture and long-term vision, the club is investing significantly in its people, infrastructure and supporter experience. As the club continues to grow both on and off the pitch, there is a clear ambition to build a best-in-class commercial operation capable of supporting long-term success.
The Retail Manager will play a key role in this journey, taking ownership of the club's retail and merchandise operation at a pivotal stage of growth. This is a newly created position with genuine opportunity to shape strategy, influence commercial performance and build the future of retail at one of the most exciting clubs in women's football.
The impact you'll make
- Develop and grow the club's retail operation across ecommerce, merchandise, matchdays and future retail channels.
- Build a commercially successful product range that reflects the club's brand, engages supporters and drives revenue growth.
- Take ownership of the club's ecommerce platform, improving the online customer journey and driving conversion performance.
- Lead retail delivery on matchdays and major events, ensuring an outstanding supporter experience and strong brand presentation.
- Manage stock, fulfilment, supplier relationships and operational processes, creating an efficient and scalable retail function.
- Analyse supporter trends, sales performance and commercial data to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with commercial, marketing and operational teams to develop new products, campaigns and retail initiatives.
- Help shape the future direction of the function, joining a role with significant autonomy and opportunity to make a lasting impact.
What's in it for you?
- The opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing clubs in women's football at a transformational stage of its journey.
- A genuine opportunity to build and shape a retail function rather than inherit a fully established operation.
- High levels of ownership, responsibility and visibility across the organisation.
- The chance to influence supporter experience, commercial performance and long-term retail strategy.
- Daily breakfast and lunch provided on site.
- Opportunities for professional development, training courses and continued learning.
- A collaborative, ambitious and values-driven culture where individuals are encouraged to contribute ideas and help shape the future of the club.
Your skills and experience
- Experience within retail, ecommerce or merchandise operations, ideally within sport, entertainment, leisure or a consumer-facing environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience driving revenue growth and managing budgets or product performance.
- Experience managing ecommerce platforms and understanding customer conversion, fulfilment and online sales performance.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across both strategic and operational aspects of the role.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build, improve and create new opportunities.
