We are seeking an experienced M&E CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) to join a growing Rail Infrastructure team delivering major projects across the UK rail network.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional to take a leading role in the safe and successful delivery of multidisciplinary rail infrastructure works.
About the Role
Reporting into the Engineering leadership team, the M&E CEM will provide engineering assurance, technical leadership and coordination across a portfolio of rail projects, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, client requirements and industry best practice.
You will act as the focal point for all engineering activities within Mechanical & Electrical disciplines, managing interfaces across design, construction and commissioning teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering assurance activities across M&E rail projects
- Undertake the role of Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) in accordance with Network Rail standards
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces across rail systems projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, procedures and governance requirements
- Manage design reviews, technical approvals and engineering change processes
- Support project teams through construction, testing and commissioning phases
- Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners
- Mentor and support developing engineers within the business
- Promote a strong culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience operating as a CEM within the rail industry
- Strong background in M&E rail systems, E&P, building services or related infrastructure disciplines
- Detailed understanding of Network Rail engineering assurance processes
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project interfaces
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Professional membership or chartership desirable
- Full UK driving licence
